WHO AM I?
My name is Anna Young and I am conducting a research project as part of my Master of Educational Psychology qualification at Victoria University of Wellington under the supervision of Professor Vanessa Green. I have joined the KiVa team alongside Vani Narayanan (a fellow Masters student) and Vanessa Green.
ABOUT THIS RESEARCH PROJECT
In this research project my aim is to gain a greater understanding of parents' experiences and perspectives of the KiVa bullying prevention program in their child(ren)'s school. I hope that this project will provide the opportunity for parents to anonymously share their understanding and experiences with KiVa, to contribute to the overall evaluation of the program.
This research has been approved by the Victoria University of Wellington Human Ethics Committee (Reference number: 0000023658).

It is possible that you may not be aware that your school has such a programme, as it is quite new. However, this in itself is important information and we would greatly appreciate any information you can share of your knowledge of the programme.
How can you help?
You have been invited to participate as a parent or primary caregiver of a child at a KiVa school. The project comprises of a short online anonymous survey. The survey involves a combination of questions about your current knowledge of KiVa and your experiences with it. It should only take about 5-10 minutes of your time to complete it, accessed by the link below. It is also possible to exit the survey and complete at a later time (within two weeks).

YOUR RIGHTS AS A PARTICIPANT
All information from this survey will remain confidential and anonymous - there will be no way of connecting this information with you, your child or the school. Responses will be analysed alongside those of other participants, if you inadvertently include identifying information in your responses this will be removed prior to analysis.
You do not have to accept this offer to participate if you don't want to. If you do decide to participate you have the right to:
- Withdraw from the study before completion, by closing your internet browser
- Ask questions about the study at any time
- Be able to read any reports of this research by emailing the researcher of this study to request one.
